The BMW Oslo Marathon is fast approaching. There are only 80 days left until this year's running party kicks off in the capital. The BMW Oslo Marathon has distances for all levels, and this year can report a fast track for 10 km, «10 for Grete».
-There will be changes in this year's course compared to previous years. If you are looking to set a personal record of 10 km, you should participate in "10 for Grete" on 16 September, says Trail Manager Tim Bennett.
Bennett further explains that this year's 10 km will be a circular trail with many good stretches, without changes of direction. So here you can run at a high average speed. There will be a proper, but short bend and some regular, quite straight climbs. See image for altimeter at the bottom of the article. (NB: subject to change).
-At 16.15 the start is for the 10 km runners. There are already close to 3,000 people registered for this distance, and we expect the distance to fill up closer to the event. 10 km is a distance affordable for most people, and all levels are welcome to participate, says General Manager of the Oslo Marathon, Karen Kvalevåg.
The BMW Oslo Marathon arranges "Life on the trail" during the event. The concept means that various artists, cheerleaders, dancers etc entertain runners and the audience along the trail. This is no exception to "10 for Grete".
-We will create a folk festival in Oslo city on 16 September. When it comes to 10 km, there will be several exciting elements during the race, but this will not be revealed until September, Kvalevåg concludes.
The final trail for 10 km will be published closer to the event.
