FIND YOUR RUNNING FORM WITH THE OSLO MARATHON 

Oslo Marathon organizes several running groups throughout the year together with our partners. We also have long runs on our course, and we have started a great collaboration with CREW Trening, where you can participate in both fitness and strength sessions for runners!

You can find all the sessions further down this page. Some sessions happen every week, other sessions happen every other week or only on set dates. We are constantly updating with new sessions, so stay tuned! 

OSLO MARATON x CREW TRENING

Some of the sessions we organize in collaboration with CREW Trening take place at their premises at Alexander Kiellandsplass, and these require a punch card with them. There is no commitment time and you only pay for the sessions you attend - GENIAL! Read more about how it works and book your first session HERE.

TRAINING FOR WHEELCHAIR USERS

Training for us on wheels has taken a break, and will start up again at a later date. We will return to the start-up when it gets closer. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay updated. 

All wheelchair users are welcome to participate in para training on Wednesdays at Bislett Stadium. See more information about this training session below here.

WHAT: Training for us on wheels

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The next Training for us on wheels will be Wednesday, January 3. All wheelchair users are welcome to participate in Para training instead. See information about this training session below here. 

In collaboration with our ambassador Hanne, we are starting "Activity for us on wheels", which is a free offer for everyone who uses a wheelchair.

From 11 January, there will be weekly training sessions with a mix of fitness and strength training for all levels, they can be adapted to each individual. The sessions will take place at Bislett Stadium every Wednesday at 19:15-20:15, and the stadium is reserved for para training only during this period. 

There is no obligation to attend, so come along and see if this is something for you! If you need a companion, they are also very welcome to join us.

EVERY MONDAY

WHAT: Oslo Marathon x CREW Løpetime
WHERE: CREW Training, Alexander Kiellands Plass
WHEN: 16:15-17:00

Raw intervals designed to improve your long-distance endurance. We partner with CREW to prepare you for the Oslo Marathon on September 21, 2024. These are varied and fun intervals with highly skilled running instructors. This class is perfect for those who want to improve their running training! With the best treadmills on the market, great music and lights, we guarantee you'll love these classes!

EVERY WEDNESDAY

WHAT: Para training (running and strength)
WHERE: Bislett Stadium
WHEN: 19:15-20:40 

This is a workout for both parade participants and volunteer escorts. The session starts with running and ends with strength and balance training, and is adapted to all levels. Participants who need it are accompanied by a companion.

EVERY WEDNESDAY

WHAT: Running group with the guys from Løpeprat
WHERE: Rådhusplassen (meet up outside the Nobel Peace Center)
WHEN: 18:00-18:45

Join a low-threshold and social running group that suits everyone!
We run across Rådhusplassen, past Frognerkilen and back to Rådhusplassen again. The course consists of two different laps, so it will be possible to run 3 or 6 kilometers. The pace will be around 6 minutes per kilometer, but we also have some who keep a slower pace if you wish.

EVERY THURSDAY

WHAT: Oslo Marathon x CREW The Method
WHERE: CREW Trening, Alexander Kiellands Plass
WHEN: 17:00-20:10

Join us for running + strength! 20-35 minutes of interval training on the treadmill combined with 20-25 minutes of running-oriented strength training. This is a HIIT class that really gives you an endorphin booster! Suitable for all levels, as you adjust the treadmill and the weights you use. With the best treadmills on the market, great music and lights, we guarantee you'll love these classes!

We're celebrating Women's Day with a great workout!

HAVE YOU SIGNED UP? 

Have you remembered to sign up for one of our distances? 

During the BMW Oslo Marathon you can choose between the distances 10 for Grete, half marathon, marathon and Oslotrippelen (73.3 km). We also have 10 km wheelchair racing for wheelchair users, and separate classes for parade participants at several distances. For the kids, we have Sporty- and Miniløpet for everyone between 0-13 years! Read more about all our distances here

PREVIOUS RUNNING GROUPS WITH OUR PARTNERS

Give the green light to organ donation!

On Tuesday 28 February, we organised a running group together with our charity partner, the Organ Donation Foundation.

130 runners turned up for the 'Green Light for Organ Donation Race' and walked/ran to show that they say YES to organ donation. You could choose to run one lap of 4.4 km, or two laps and 8.8 km. We handed out green luminous ribbons to those who showed up, as a symbol of giving the green light, and after the session, King Marina provided coffee, chocolate and oranges for everyone! 

We ended the running group with a prize draw, and here we drew winners of a cap from Kongen Marina as well as SUP board rental, a towel from Kongen Marina and sauna rental for 10 people. Several celebrated the running session with a dinner at Kongen Marina, which had 25% on all food for all participants!

New Reflex race on 7 February

On Wednesday 7 November, we once again organised Refleksløp together with our partner Gjensidige, to highlight the importance of being seen in the dark. As we say every time; wearing reflectors is the cheapest insurance we have! 

Also this time there were several hundred runners who showed up and were each given a raw reflector from Gjensidige before the run. The group was divided into different speed groups where we had pacesetters at 7.00, 6.30, 6.00, 5.30, 5.00 and 4.30 minutes per kilometer. Some of the group ran 5 kilometres, while others went for a 10 kilometre run. At the end of the session, as always, the participants received nuts and energy bars from Maxim!

The reflective race is just as much fun every time, we light up the streets with reflectors and the joy of running! We can't wait for the next one! 

Running group for a good cause!

In recent years, we have organized the virtual race "Romjulsløpet". In 2022, we chose to turn this into a physical running group! Participants could choose between 5 km or 10 km. As usual, there was no timing, but we had speed controllers for different levels, from walking to jogging and running. The distances were also "synchronised" with today's hatch for those who took part in the Julechallenge , and several participants joined in to complete today's hatch with us - it was great fun! 

We encouraged everyone who took part to donate an amount to the Church's City Mission and their campaign "Gled noen som gruer ses til Christmas", to which we also donated one meal for every person who took part in our Christmas Challenge in 2022. 

After the finish line, all participants were given gingerbread and coffee to warm up, as well as bars from Maxim.

After the session, participants received nuts and energy bars from Maxim!

Long trip in Lillomarka

On 16 August, Ambassador Liv invited Richter for a long trip in Lillomarka. The gang ran from Nittedal train station to Sinober and towards Barlindsåsen before ending the trip at Grefsenkollen with pizza! A lovely 15 kilometer run in the fields, with good atmosphere all the way! 

Plowing + Running Strength

On 24 August, Hold Norge Rent, Ragns Sells, Gjensidige and Oslo Marathon invited plogging + running strength in St. Hanshaugen park! We plowed for just over 20 minutes, before the Oslo Marathon provided a running strength session with a mini band. A pleasant afternoon with good efforts both for the environment and health! 

Strength with Dr. Dropin

On Tuesday, June 21, we arranged strength training with Dr. Dr. Dropin Physical. The session was set up by NPT, former athlete and physiotherapist at Dr.Dropin, Therese Skjølsvik. She took us through a session focusing on strength exercises aimed at runners. The session was rewarded with Maxim bars for all participants, and 3 of those who showed up won a small prize at the same time!

The breathing room in the forest

On 31 May, we arranged a running group in collaboration with Active against cancer. The running group was held in the Respite Room in the forest at Rikshospitalet.

Former athlete Ingvill Måkestad Bovim and cross-country skier Kasper Stadaas led a nice training session which consisted of a mixture of intervals, and various strength exercises through the trail to the breathing room and the activities / equipment found there.

After the training, coffee from Kjeldsberg was served as well as great bars from Maxim!

 

The reflex run with Gjensidige

On Wednesday 23 February, we arranged the Reflex Race in collaboration with our partner Gjensidige, to focus on safety and the importance of using reflex in the dark.

Gjensidige handed out reflective tapes to everyone who participated, and served coffee and cinnamon buns. We also had Taffel water supplied by Rema 1000 and protein and energy bars from Maxim.

Around 150 people took part in the 5 km long round with start and finish at the Grete Waitz statue at Bislett Stadium. 

The Garmin race

On Thursday 21 April, we arranged the Garmin race in collaboration with Garmin. The event started with a short presentation about Garmin watches and the different functions of the watches.

Then we set up intervals at different paces adapted to different levels. For those who did not want to run intervals, it was also possible to walk a lap of about 2.5 km. Garmin provided loan watches for those who wanted to test watches. 

The session was rewarded with buns, coffee from Kjeldsberg, table water from REMA 1000 and protein bars from Maxim. In addition, a lucky winner was drawn who won a Garmin Forerunner 745.
