TASKS FOR OUR VOLUNTEERS

Here you will find some simple descriptions of which tasks you can choose to help with during the BMW Oslo Marathon. Press the area you want to know more about.

Read the conditions for volunteering here.

This task is fully booked in 2024 and is no longer possible to sign up for.

This task is to take care of the volunteers, and make sure that the right person gets to the right place and gets the right task. You should also make sure that the volunteers are well during the event, that they get food and drink and what they need to complete their tasks. You have your main base on Rådhusplassen, and here you can sign up for assignments both the days before and during the event itself.

In this group, your job will be to familiarize yourself with information in advance. You will circulate around Rådhusplassen and be available to the public and participants. You should be able to answer relevant questions and the most important thing is to be cheerful, friendly and service-minded. The task is completed on the day of the event.

As an audience guard, you will help direct the audience and participants at Rådhusplassen. This is a fun job where you get to meet lots of new people, help them find their way around the event and make sure everything runs smoothly. The task is carried out on the day of the event.

We need spectator guards inside the Expo, as well as outside the entrance and exit (the big tent on Rådhusplassen). Here we have guards from Thursday to Saturday. The task is to make sure that the audience goes the right way, and answer questions if someone is wondering about something.

This task is only open to volunteer groups. Please contact Astrid at astrid@oslomaraton.no for more information.

We have a long runners course, and along it we need smiling, cherring and helping people who stand up for the runners and give them a good running experience. At the same time, you are the event's face to the audience, and must ensure that they also have a good experience in Oslo this day.

The task involves guarding the race course where you, among other things, help to direct both runners, the audience and traffic. As a course guard you get to stand in the middle of where everything happens, so at the same time as you guard the course you can be a cheerleader and cheer the runners on! The tasks take place out on the course and take place during the event itself.

We need more drivers, but also driver helpers - so a driver's license is not a must!

The tasks will mainly consist of transporting material to and from the warehouse, arena on the town hall square and areas out on the trail. Here there are many tasks both before, during and after the event. This is a task where you get to experience several aspects of the event, and get to see what it literally looks like inside.

We provide cars and trucks, but we need drivers! If you have a driver's license for a small truck or big truck, we would love to have you on our team, but we also need drivers with a regular driver's license.

There is a lot to be prepared before a big event, and to be taken down when the event is over. We need help with many different tasks before, during and after the event. This task is suitable for you if you want to use your muscles, and love carrying and placing fences around the trail and on Rådhusplassen, build tents and make sure everything is safe and ready before the event. It is also suitable for you who want to help us with smaller tasks, such as cleaning the arena, putting up signs and other small things that also need to be in place.

Chill Zone is an area that is open to everyone, but is also a meeting point for those who have signed up for the BMW Oslo Marathon. Here we need you who want to provide good service and be a contact person for the companies that have access here, help with any questions they have, and ensure that they know where to go, help them with luggage storage and more. Here we will create a good and chill atmosphere with many happy participants, a nice and cool place to be on the day of the event!

The assignment is carried out on the day of the event.

Are you interested in helping others and are you serviceminded? The secretariat and runners service are inside the Expo tent at Rådhusplassen. The task is to assist runners with the help they need regarding their bib number, registration or other questions they have before and after their race. This is suitable for you if you like to meet people and work efficiently, and meet the runners with a positive and good spirit of service! The task also requires a basic understanding of the use of PC and internet, and you must understand Norwegian. The secretariat opens on Thursday and closes on Saturday, so we need help before and during the event.

The bib number and t-shirt distribution is set up inside the Expo tent at Rådhusplassen. Voulunteers working here are very important, as they are some of the first crew members the runners meet at Rådhusplassen.

This task is for you who like to meet people, work efficiently and like it when there is a lot to do, it can be very stressful in the rush hours. The task also requires a very positive and helpful attitude, as we ofcourse want you to meet all runners with a big smile and good service! You are based on Rådhusplassen, and the tasks takes place the days before and during the event itself. Distribution of start numbers and T-shirts starts on Thursday and ends on Saturday.

Do you want to stand in Rema 1000 gata and hand out goodie bags? Here you receive the runners after they have reached the finish line, and give them drinks and goodies from Rema 1000, such as buns, bananas and other products. The task also involves rigging up and down the area.
Here you meet happy and tired participants who have just reached the finish line. It is sometimes a bit hectic when there is a lot going on, but it goes well! It's so much fun to make happy participants even happier! 🙂

The task is completed on the day of the event.

Children are an important part of the BMW Oslo Marathon! Therefore, we arrange a separate activity day for the children during the event. Here they get the opportunity to run their own race on Kontraskjæret, and take part in several fun activities both in sports and other things that are also fun. This job is for you who want to help create sports joy for the youngest. There are several different tasks, including starting number distribution, assisting in the start and finish area, assisting in the activities, making sure that the children are well and much more!

The assignment is carried out on the day of the event.
