Are you ready to kick off your training for the BMW Oslo Marathon and warm up to feel the adrenaline pumping as you run through the streets of Oslo in September?

We're so excited to finally be able to present our totally awesome and brand new training programs, made for you! With inspiring running coach Tim Bennett and Sprintcrowd' s energetic Head Coach Rubin McRae at the helm, we're confident you'll feel motivated and ready to run your distance at the BMW Oslo Marathon on September 21, 2024.

WHAT DO YOU GET?

For just 249 NOK, you get access to a 16-week training program tailored to you and your goals, whether you want to run 10 km, a half marathon or a marathon. So don't hesitate - join us and get ready to cross the finish line with a big smile and a sense of mastery! You can buy the training program when you sign up for this year's BMW Oslo Marathon, but you can also find them here! 

The training program starts on June 3rd and takes you through 16 weeks where we will help you towards the start line of the BMW Oslo Marathon 2024. 

This is what you get: 

  • A 16-week customizable training program to help you on your way to reaching your goals
  • A guided 3 km test with Tim Bennett on your ear, where you will get a result that tells you which goals are realistic for you based on pace tables, where you find your pace for the different sessions in the program 
  • 15 live workouts with Coach Tim Bennett on your ear, inspiring and guiding you through fun interval sessions on Wednesday each week, available in the Sprintcrowd app (if you can't make it on Wednesdays, you'll find the sessions available in the app so you can listen to them afterwards)
  • Become part of the Oslo Marathon community and chat with coaches and other like-minded runners in the app

SOME ADVICE ON THE ROAD  

To get fitter, you first need to decide that this is something you really want to do. Cutting corners has little effect and you can often lose motivation if you try too hard in the beginning. Therefore, try to stick to your training plan and exercise regularly. After a while, you'll find it easier to set aside time and complete the sessions. 

You get a lot done in 30-40 minutes! If you get bored with the same activity every time, you can vary jogging and brisk walking with other activities, such as cycling, walking, swimming, etc. Try to incorporate some physical activity into your daily life. 

Make the training as pleasurable as possible ; pleasant company on the trip can be inspiring and motivating. 

Imagine that you are going to "hurry up slowly". The intensity doesn't have to be too high - it's more important that you enjoy what you're doing and stay motivated. 

Set a goal that motivates you. BMW Oslo Marathon has distances to suit everyone, and you'll definitely feel a sense of achievement when you cross the finish line. Completing a race together with thousands of others is a great experience, and it's extra nice when you reach the goal you've been training for!

Even if you have the best of intentions and have set aside time for training, at times things are bound to come up that make it difficult to follow the program. Don't let short interruptions ruin what you've started. It's the regular and consistent training that counts in the end. 

Whether you choose the marathon or the 10 km, a week or two with little training shouldn't prevent you from lining up at the start line of the BMW Oslo Marathon in Oslo.

A workout is 25 percent sweat and 75 percent willpower. Put another way: There is one part physical activity and three parts self-discipline. And then it's 100 percent fun!

A workout makes you better today than you were yesterday. It strengthens the body, does good for the soul and gives you better self-confidence. 

A workout is a personal victory. It is the symbol of a winner, and of mastery.

A workout is a sensible use of time and an investment in yourself. It makes you better equipped to face challenges in life, both physically and mentally. 

A workout is the key to new opportunities and success. We all have unknown resources in us. By getting in shape you can release these resources. 

When you have completed a good workout, you not only feel better - you like yourself better too, and also have extra energy to give to others around you!

Our dear Jack Waitz has prepared training programs for different levels based on Grete Waitz's and own experiences and knowledge about training. It is important that you choose the program that suits the shape you are in and that you can adapt to your daily life. 

Quick walking or leisurely jogging are great activities, because they can be adapted to the individual's shape and fit into a busy everyday life. To achieve the goals you have set, you must take the training seriously. With a good plan, you are already well on your way. But be prepared that it takes a positive attitude and a little willpower to get started.

This training program is for you who have not been very active for a long time. Do you get out of breath from walking three to four flights of stairs or from heavy housework? Or maybe your training in recent years has consisted of walking from the parking lot to your workplace? This program is perfect for you. It helps you get in shape in a safe and comfortable way.

FREE TRAINING PROGRAM - YOUR FIRST 3 KM 

Your first Half Marathon 

Are you planning to complete your first half marathon? Then we recommend that you try this training program. It runs over a period of 12 weeks, and as long as you're not completely out of shape when you start, you'll have no problem following the training sessions. When you start, you should be able to jog 3-4 km with some walking breaks.
