Jeanette runs for Syrian children!

Jeanette will run 24 hours on a treadmill from Friday at 14:00. She raises money for Syrian children! Take a trip to the Sports and Health Fair from Friday at 14:00 to see Jeanette run at the mill, participate in a competition or run for a good cause.

Right To Play has a great project in connection with the Oslo Marathon, where 3 midwives Jeanette Vika (36) will run 24 hours a day from Friday at 14:00 to 14:00 on Saturday. She wants to set both an official Norwegian and Nordic record, and in addition raise sponsors and money for Syrian children in the projects of Right To Play in Lebanon and Jordan.

More than 1.1 million refugees have been registered in Lebanon and more than 629,266 in Jordan, according to the UNHCR. More than half of the registered refugees are children. Many of the children have severe trauma and lack of stability, and this in combination with a passive life. They see their opportunities as limited, as their lives have been dramatically changed by violence and conflict.

The UN's Syria Regional Response Plan (RRP) and governments are calling for projects that promote peaceful coexistence between the Syrian, Lebanese and Jordanian people in the dramatic situation that has arisen. They emphasize education, social and psychosocial support as immediate priorities.

Right To Play trains coaches and teachers to lead specially adapted Right To Play activities and sports activities with children and young people. By participating in Right To Play programs, children can find a form of stability. Play is the children's language and their arena, while also learning important skills to be able to master the challenges associated with poverty and trauma.

In Jordan, Right To Play will reach more than 80,000 children during 2015, which is 3 times the year before. In Lebanon, a doubling from 2014. The Oslo Marathon is therefore a good framework for being able to run for a good cause - and in addition be able to support our work.
