Eystein Holter, he has previously completed the Oslo marathon three times, then in a purple rabbit suit. At one of these races, he got into a conversation with a former convict, who openly told him about how running had played a role in how he got out of a life of drugs and crime. During the race, Eystein realized that while he was running in a purple bunny suit, the other athlete was really running for his life.
The convicted person had received good help from Nettverk ert soning, a place where inmates receive help and assistance at the end and also after serving their sentence. Eystein decided that he wanted to contribute to support this work, and therefore he runs the Oslo Marathon with a red bunny suit and an original hairstyle to attract as much attention as possible, as well as to raise money for Nettverk ert soning.
- 7 years ago I decided to run a marathon, and I have completed the Oslo marathon three times in a purple rabbit suit, where I spent about 5 hours each time. This year I'm running to raise money for something meaningful, namely the Red Cross's Network after atonement.
And his goal?
The red rabbit suit is relatively heavy and not terribly well ventilated, but I will take the time it takes and have not set a time as a goal - the goal is only to complete! I'm not entirely sure I'll be able to carry it out with the suit, so I'll bring an extra suit so I can change if I get too hot! Anyway, I'm looking forward to running, and hope we can raise some money.
