Gular runner Marius Vedvik (30) ran away from the start - and won the men's half marathon during today's BMW Oslo Marathon in Oslo. There was never any doubt as to who would win the 21.1 km distance.
Vedvik was 46 seconds ahead of the second man after 5 km of the race. He passed 10 km in a time of 32:01. After 15 km the clock showed 48:01.
Marius Vedvik crossed the finish line in 1:07:50. The Gular runner took part in the 24-34 age class.
- Delicious. An incredible number of people cheered around the trail. I've been heavy the past few weeks, but I made it through. Now I'm going to have a short break, said Vedvik after the race.
In second place in today's half marathon came Frode Stenberg from Lørenskog Friidrettslag. Stenberg recorded a time of 1:11:17 at the finish line. With that, he was three minutes and 28 seconds behind Vedvik. Stenberg raced in the 35-39 age class.
Third place went to Marius Skeide Ruth from Stavanger Friidrettsklubb in the final time after 21.1 km in 1:11:55. He was just over four minutes behind Vedvik. Skeide Ruth ran in class 24-34 years.
