Eleanor Davies won the women's half marathon

Eleanor Davies (K24-34) from the UK was fastest in the half marathon for women during today's Danske Bank Oslo Marathon. She got the time 1:15:45 - which is a new personal record for the British runner. Heidi Pharo from Bøler was second and Norwegian champion in the distance.

Davies had previously run a half marathon in 1:15:50. Now she ran five seconds faster.

In second place came Norwegian Heidi Pharo from Bøler. She also won the same distance during last year's edition of the Danske Bank Oslo Marathon. Today she ran in 1:16:43, and thus set a new personal record.

-I am very happy with this race. Norwegian champion and personal record. I have reason to be happy with that. This year it was even a little easier than last year, at the same time as there was more cutting this year than last year. Setting a personal record of around 30 seconds I am also very happy with, said Heidi Pharo shortly after passing the finish line.

Agnieszka Mierzejewska (K24-34) from Poland finished third in the half marathon. She got the time 1:17:01. Her best rating is 1:13:20.

The track record for the half marathon for women is 1:09:41 and is held by SK Vidars Karoline Bjerkeli Grøvdal. The record is from 2012. It also survived today's half marathon in the streets of Oslo.

Today's Danke Bank Oslo Marathon is the 36th time the event has been launched. The final number of participants is not yet clear, but 23,000 were registered before the Children's Marathon. Last year, around 2,000 children participated in the Children's Marathon. This means that the organizer estimates around 25,000 for this year's edition of the Danske Bank Oslo Marathon.
