The BMW Oslo marathon is underway!

At 9 o'clock the starting shot went off for this year's edition of the BMW Oslo Marathon. A total of around 16,600 runners are registered for the race party. SK Vidar is organizing Oslo Marathon number 41 today.

The first Oslo Marathon was organized in 1981. Last year was the 40th anniversary of the Oslo Marathon.

This year there are around 7,500 runners in total in the half marathon - which is the distance with the most participants. In the marathon distance, there are 2,500 participants, and there are also NMs included.

There are just under 150 runners on the Oslo trip (73.3 km). And in "10 km for Grete" there are around 4,500 runners. The remaining participants are in "3 for all", "3 km on wheels" as well as 10 km plogging and 10 km wheelchair.

 

Communications manager Stine Næss-Hartmann from BMW Oslo Marathon is looking forward to today's distances in the capital.

- As always, the weather is great during the Oslo Marathon - and this year's event is by no means an exception. Brilliant weather and top running conditions, says Næss-Hartmann.
