Changes for DNB Oslo Marathon 2026
The passing of His Majesty King Harald has touched all of Norway, and our thoughts go out to the royal family and everyone close to them during this difficult time.
In connection with the funeral of His Majesty the King, the Town Hall Square will be affected during the period when we were scheduled to set up and prepare this year's Expo and start number distribution. We have great respect for the solemn commemoration and the necessary arrangements around this.
We have been working intensively to find good solutions so that we can still welcome all our runners to a safe, inclusive and great race weekend in Oslo. As a result of the City Hall Square being affected, we have to move this year's Expo to Tøyen.
Here is an overview of what is changing – and what is going on as normal.
Expo and bib number distribution moved to Tøyen
The Expo tent, where you pick up your bib number, find runner service and meet our exhibitors, will be moved from Rådhusplassen to Tøyen, on the circus site by the old Munch Museum.
For you as a participant, this primarily means that Expo and bib pick-up will be relocated. Bibs can only be picked up at Expo on Tøyen, and it will not be possible to pick up bibs at Rådhusplassen this year (except for Extra Oslo Mini Marathon – read more below).
Opening hours are as follows:
- Thursday, September 10, 9:00 – 20:00
- Friday 11 September 09:00 – 20:00
- Saturday 12 September 07:00 – 15:30
Find your way to the Expo
Expo and bib number distribution will be moved to Tøyen, at Sirkustomta by the old Munch Museum.

Public transport
It is easy to get to Tøyen. The area is easily accessible by public transport:
- Metro to Tøyen: Tøyen station is right next door, about a 5-minute walk.
- Bus to Tøyenparken: The nearest stop is Tøyenparken, it is located nearby.
- Bus, Tram and Metro to Carl Berners Plass: Carl Berners Plass is also located in walking distance, and here there are several options for public transport.
We recommend leaving your car behind as there are very limited parking spaces in the area. Cycling is a great alternative.
Pick up your bib number on Saturday, September 12th?
If you are picking up your bib number on Saturday, please allow extra time. There will be a lot of activity, traffic and people in Oslo on this day, and we therefore recommend that you plan your trip well and use public transport.
If you are going from Tøyen to Rådhusplassen on race day, we recommend taking the subway from Tøyen to Nationaltheatret and walking down to the start from there.
We do NOT recommend getting off at the Stortinget, as you will have to cross the trail towards the starting area and it can be very difficult at times.
Start and finish are unchanged.
On Saturday, September 12th, the start and finish will be at Rådhusplassen as before, and the race will be held as normal with start times and everything as planned. The place will look a little different, and we are working on updating maps and other information, but there is nothing that will affect you as a runner. Luggage storage, toilets and line-up before the start are in the same place as before.

Extra Oslo Mini Maraton
Extra Oslo Mini Marathon will be held as normal at Kontraskjæret. However, if you are going to pick up your bib number on Thursday or Friday, you must pick them up at Expo at Tøyen. On Saturday, you can pick up your start number for the Mini Marathon at Kontraskjæret, which is open from 10:00 to 14:30.

At the same time, we are very happy that we have found good solutions that allow us to carry out the event as planned, and look forward to gathering all runners for this year's DNB Oslo Marathon.
