DNB Oslo Maraton
PARA PARTICIPANTS
What are paraclasses?
In 2010, the Oslo Maraton created separate classes for people with disabilities, with separate classes for women and men. This was done following an initiative from the blind and visually impaired in Team RP .
A regular feature associated with the para-classes ever since they were introduced in 2010 is the collaboration between the blind and partially sighted from Team RP and Active Against Aancer. Every year, Team RP invites between 30 and 50 sports and cultural personalities to join as guides, where RP participants and their guide run to promote Acitve Against Cancer.
Are you a para participant?
Para athletes are people with mobility, vision, hearing and/or other functional impairments ( Ref. NIF's strategy for para sports ). People within these target groups can participate in our para classes.
During the DNB Oslo Maraton, participants can choose between the distances 10 for Grete, half marathon and marathon. We also have a racing distance for wheelchair users, 10 km Racing! Read more about all the distances here .

Accessibility at the arena
Tent for para and racing participants
To support accessibility and make it easy for our participants with functional variations, we have set up a separate tent between the start and finish area that all para and racing participants can use.
To take advantage of this offer, show your participant number marked with para/racing to the guards standing next to the finish line, and they will show you the way to the tent. In the tent there will be luggage storage, as well as chairs and tables if you want to sit down and relax before and after the race. There is also a HC toilet at the tent for para participants only.
Check the map in the next tab to find your way.
