Marius Vedvik from Gular won the half marathon

Marius Vedvik from Gular and Bergen was clearly the fastest in the half marathon distance during the BMW Oslo Marathon today. Vedvik led from start to finish - and was never threatened in the streets of Oslo.

He passed 10 km in 31:06 and 15 km in 46:36. The yellow runner recorded a time of 1:05:41 in the finish. Last year, the same Vedvik was in fourth place with a time of 1:05:52.

-A fantastic well done race. I found the rhythm well after the first five kilometers, says Marius Vedvik from Gular.

In second place came Michael Ande Tesfaimichael from BUL with a time of 1:11:31, barely six minutes behind Vedvik from Bergen. In third place in the half marathon came Øystein Mørk from Sportsklubben Kraft with a time of 1:12:36.

The track record in the half marathon for men is held by EC participant Sondre Nordstad Moen from the organizing club SK Vidar. It is from 2014 and reads at 1:02:59.

And there were and are great conditions during this year's edition of the Oslo Marathon. NRK commentator and member of the organizing club SK Vidar Jack Waitz enjoys the sun in the capital.

-There are great conditions during this year's edition of the Oslo Marathon. The trail conditions are perfect. A bit hot, but great running conditions for most people, says Jack Waitz, who is also one of the founders of the running party in the capital.

A total of just under 19,000 runners participate in the Oslo Marathon today. Runners from a total of 62 countries are participating. The oldest runner is 83 years old.

General manager May Britt Dørum-Persen in SK Vidar and the Oslo Marathon is very pleased with the marathon day in the streets of Oslo.

-We have brilliant conditions and not least safe conditions for the participants. And with almost 19,000 participants present, we have good reason to be happy. We also see that we have more participants in the half marathon than before. In addition, the average age of the runners is lower than in recent years, says general manager May Britt Dørum-Persen in SK Vidar and the Oslo Marathon.

-We also have 1,100 volunteers who make a great effort before, during and after the Oslo Marathon. Thanks to them, we are able to arrange this running party, says May Britt Dørum-Persen in SK Vidar and the Oslo Marathon.
