Download the app PLOGGER- WIN sneakers!

Are you concerned about taking care of the environment, but also maintaining your health?

In collaboration with Gjensidige and the Norwegian Athletics Association, which has developed the app Plogger, we now want to help get people active at the same time as they pick up rubbish!

By downloading the app, you can measure how much rubbish you pick up and how far you run or walk.

Did you know…

… 80% of the litter in the sea comes from land.
… Over 2 tonnes of rubbish ends up in the streets of Oslo - every day! (Geo-specific)
… It takes 20-25 years to break down a single chewing gum?
… Nature spends about 450 (!) Years breaking down an ordinary empty bottle.
… Other plowers say that being both active and environmentally conscious gives a fantastic feeling.

What is plugging?

Plogging is an activity that involves picking up rubbish while jogging, walking, cycling or exercising in another way. For those of us who live in a society where both consumption and littering increase all the time, it is important to initiate measures to prevent the waste from ending up in nature and the sea.

Here from the plow distance at the Oslo Marathon in 2019.

You need this to plow:

  • The Plogger app. Download it in the App Store or Google Play
  • Plastic gloves, garden gloves, work gloves or similar
  • Bags to have the waste in
Karsten Warholm, Amalie Iuel and Leif Olav Alnes plow on the athletics track.

Competition- win sneakers!

By downloading and registering your trips in the Plogger app, you will automatically be in the draw for a pair of sneakers! The competition ends on June 14, and we draw three random winners on June 15. Click here to read the competition rules.

If you are part of an athletics club or a handball team, it may be worthwhile to download the Plogger app right now. Gjensidige is arranging a competition where you can take part in the draw for cash prizes of NOK 15,000, 10,000 and 5,000.
