Håkon Brox won the men's marathon!

Håkon Brox from Oslo club Tjalve was first to finish in the men's marathon during today's BMW Oslo Marathon in the streets of Oslo. Brox had the winning time of 2:25:25.

This was his big marathon comeback. It had been 10 years since he last competed at the distance. The Tjalve runner ran alone for much of the race. After 30 km he had just over a minute on second place.

– It's been 10 years since the last time, so this was beyond expectations. It was going well about halfway through the race. Then it was just a matter of driving on, says Brox.

– I've been in bad shape for 10 years now. This winter I made steady progress. Then it was just a matter of driving the kilometers, says Brox.

Frode Stenberg from Lørenskog Athletics Team finished second among the men in this year's BMW Oslo Marathon. He finished in 2:28:08.

In third place at the finish line was Jarand Blom from Fri IL with a time of 2:29:04.
