Good tips for you who are going to run the BMW Oslo Marathon
Our ambassador Anna Tien Ngyuyen- Skaret is ready for the Oslo Marathon which kicks off on 17th of September 2022, and she offers good tips for you who are also going on a run this day!
- Assess your own level of shape.
- Choose a distance that you like.
- Set goals that are realistic.
- Exercise varied and have fun along the way. The most important thing is to keep the continuity of the training.
- Clothes: Test out the running outfit in advance.
Shoes: Starting with brand new shoes is «fy-fy». If you are going to run a long way, it is a good idea to have some spacious shoes as your feet swell up along the way, then you will not have to get blue nails (own experiences, have lost some nails after my first marathon, au)
- Nutrition: Eat normally. Do not try anything new the day before you run.
- Race day: Enjoy the atmosphere, both before, during and after the race. Most important of all: Straighten your back (no matter how tired you are) and SMILE to the cameramen! haha!
- Stop at all the drinking stations, great opportunity to lower your heart rate and get energy replenishment.
- I love to give "high five" to children who reach out, it gives me energy boost.
- If you get tired and think that you do not fix this along the way, remember one thing: there is no shame in going! You can also crawl if you want, no one laughs at you. The most important thing is to try to complete and get the drunken feeling of mastery when you cross the finish line and the medal around your neck. That feeling is invincible!
- In goal: Pat yourself on the shoulder and kiss the medal while taking a selfie before posting it on social media. Shared joy is double joy!
- After the race: Wear the medal around your neck for a week or two - yes, in public places too. I do this every time, then I prolong the intoxication of happiness even more 🙂
Lots of luck!
